Volunteers Needed

Help Directing Traffic

Updated:  February 3, 2020

Hi Fiesta Families! Our FGIS Safety Committee/Parents on Patrol team is looking for help with daily traffic patrol duties. “Parents on Patrol” is a quick way to volunteer while helping make a tremendous impact to school safety. Every slot filled frees up our school administration and staff to work on other important priorities.  For those who are able to assist, the links below contain sign up slots available and future months will be sent out on a regular basis. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Parents on Patrol
Pick up a stop sign and neon safety vest from the front office and help direct traffic during drop-off and pick-up.  We need Parents on Patrol in the front parking lot off Bermuda and at the entrance on 19th avenue. Parents on Patrol help students and families cross the street and maintain the safe flow of traffic. Please check with school staff or experienced on duty Parents on Patrol volunteers if you have any questions about procedures. Thank you!

Host Families Wanted

As many of you know the retention of quality bilingual teachers is an ongoing struggle. One solution that our Directora has worked on tirelessly this summer is an amazing organization that pairs host schools with bilingual teaching interns. Our sister school, Hatch, in Halfmoon Bay, has had much success with this program. We are looking for families that would be interested in hosting a Spanish- speaking international intern for at least a semester. Please see the flier and email for more information! We love our FGIS community!

We need:

  • English & Spanish speakers to volunteer their time to support students in either language.
  • Volunteers on Friday between 8:40 am – 10:20 am.
  • A weekly commitment for one or more sessions is appreciated.
    • School sessions are – Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring

If you would like to donate money, please check the website to see which of our teachers have projects listed there. Check it out by going to the Donors Choose website and finding our school. And spread the word! Anyone, anywhere can donate. You just need to tell them which project to donate to.

Go to, type "Fiesta Gardens International School" in the Search box and you will see all projects listed by our teachers.  You can then sign up to be notified whenever a teacher posts a new project from our school.

If you are able to, please help our teachers!
